Early in the morning, visit Shree Jagannath Temple - an important Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of Lord Vishnu. Originally the temple was built by king Indradyumna, later it was rebuilt in the 10th century by King Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, first of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. Shree Jagannath Temple is famous for hosting its annual Ratha yatra, in which the three principal deities are pulled on huge decorated temple cars. After visiting the temple, witness the world famous Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannath. It is the oldest Ratha Yatra taking place in India and the World, whose descriptions can be found in Brahma Purana, Padma Purana, and Skanda Purana and Kapila Samhita. Every year millions of pilgrims from around the world come to Jagannath Puri to attend this sacred festival.
Later depart for an excursion (if time permits) of Satpada Chilika - Asias largest brackish water lagoon. Furthermore, go on a wonderful boat cruise to the Rajhans Island and also witness the Irrawaddy Dolphins at the mouth of the Bay of Bengal and Chilika Lake. (Boating on direct payment). Evening return to Puri, enjoy it at Puri beach. Stay overnight at Puri.
